Is a Flock basically a group chat?

No. A Flock is an owner-led update channel, not a chat room. The owner sends Honks and Signals; members receive updates, react, open links, mute, report, or leave. It is built for clear updates, not endless discussion.

What is a Flock Signal?

A Signal is a structured update that is fast to send and easy to understand - for example "I'm Live," "New Video," "Dinner's Ready," "Ride Has Arrived," "Commit Pushed," or "Merge Complete."

Are Flock Codes public?

No. Flock Codes are not listed publicly in the app. A code can be shared by people who have it, so a Flock can spread through trust chains without becoming a public social profile.

How is a Flock different from posting on social media?

Flocks are not public timelines. A Flock is a private update channel for direct Signals without feed algorithms, public follower graphs, or group chat noise.

Who are Flocks for?

Flocks work for creators, developers, families, teams, communities, clubs, and households - anyone who needs a direct channel for useful updates without turning it into chat.

Can the Flock owner see who joined?

No. The app does not expose a member list to the Flock owner. The owner can send updates to the Flock, but they do not get a visible list of everyone listening.

Can members see everyone else in a Flock?

No. Flocks are not built around public member directories. In a Flock, the update is visible; the audience is not.

Is Honk a full chat app?

No. Honks are quick emoji-and-sound pings, and Flocks are direct update channels. Honk is built for fast signals, not endless conversations.

Privacy by default

Honk minimizes passive tracking and unnecessary data exposure. This website uses no analytics or tracking scripts. In-app ads are delivered via Google AdMob.
